For 170 years, the library keeps the RBINS’s scientific documentation.

The library collection exceeds 15 km of linear shelving (10.000 periodical titles, 300.000 books, 35.000 maps, thousands of photographs, archives, …) in all fields of natural history and related sciences.

The missions are to maintain, enrich and provide scientific information to scientists and all interested users.

The IRSNB’s Museum Library is the privileged place to get documented.  

Sinds 170 jaar bewaart de bibliotheek de wetenschappelijke documentatie van het KBIN.

De omvangrijke collectie van de bibliotheek telt meer dan 15 km rekken (10.000 tijdschriften, 300.000 boeken, 35.000 kaarten, duizenden foto’s, archieven, …) in alle gebieden van natuur- en aanverwante wetenschappen.

Haar missies zijn het behoud, verrijken en verstrekken van wetenschappelijk informatie voor wetenschappers en alle geïnteresseerde gebruikers.

De bibliotheek van het Museum van het KBIN is de ideale plek om informatie te verkrijgen. 

Depuis 170 ans, la bibliothèque conserve la documentation scientifique de l’IRSNB.

Son fonds dépasse les 15 km de rayonnage linéaire (10.000 titres de périodiques, 300.000 livres, 35.000 cartes, milliers de photographies, archives, …) dans tous les domaines des sciences naturelles et apparentées.

Ses missions: conserver, enrichir et mettre à disposition l’information scientifique pour les scientifiques comme pour les amateurs.

La bibliothèque du Muséum de l’IRSNB est le lieu privilégié pour se documenter. 

• Open Monday to Friday on appointment via bib@naturalsciences.be
  Closed on weekends, national holidays and between Christmas and the New Year.
